SHOUT! The legand of the Wild One...

1 week before easter weekend (everyone seems to be away @ easter! Hmmmf..), I took off quietly to Sydney to catch the production of "SHOUT! The legand of the Wild One" musical starring the irresistible Tim Campbell (picture below) as Johnny O'Keefe (JOK). For the uninitiated, Tim's past credits include Home and Away, Dancing With The Stars and the host of Channel Seven’s National Bingo Night.




Anyways, the show was pretty full-on, fantastic and a blow-away. I just couldn't keep still in my seat, the dancer in me wanting to spring out. I didn't know who Johnny O'Keefe was until this musical, and it has given me an apreciation of how he's shaped Aussie Rock and Roll Culture.

The cast was fantabulous too, being supported by big names such as Colleen Hewett, who took on the role as JOK's mom. She was absolutely fantastic, and blew me away with her slightly "matured" voice.
Alexis Fishman plays JOK’s first wife Marianne, a German.
Others include international recording star Glenn Shorrock who plays JOK’s dad, Australian Idol judge Mark Holden is Lee Gordon, JOK’s long time friend and manager, and also with a special appearance by rock legend John Paul Young.

I stopped by the "backstage door" after the show, but only caught Colleen Hewett and Alexis Fishman for their autographs. What an idiot I was because I forgot to bring a marker pen, and the only pen I had was a free ballpoint from Hyatt Singapore!!!

I am still hoping I can get Tim's autograph on my copy of the Program... X my fingers..

P.S. Just like to also thank Mark and Bill who put me up at their place. Though it was abit far from the city (50min bus ride), it had the charm of a small town, with everything it needs, and even a BEACH! Without you guys, I think my trip would have just been another trip, not a holiday...
